The Caerphilly Public Services Board has a proactive, collaborative and integrated approach to working with the Gwent Local Regional Partnership Board.  Throughout the well-being assessment process, and development of their well-being plan 2018 – 2023, there were regular meetings between regional partnership officers and the CCBC Corporate Policy Unit officers who were leading on this work for the PSB

The regional partnership officers attended a number of the PSB public engagement events and in particular each of the Future Scenarios events run for stakeholders and ‘professionals’ to develop the well-being assessment and plan.  The policy unit officers facilitating the public events, on behalf of the PSB, encouraged those attending assessment events to complete the hard copy regional partnership survey to inform the population assessment and area plan.  The well promoted PSB online assessment survey also included the regional partnership assessment questions.

The PSB has included regional partnership officers in  ‘joining the dots’ workshops  specifically  to ensure each of the plans are integrated, collaboration is maximised and duplication of effort is minimised.

The Caerphilly Public Services Board have received a presentation on the Area Plan at one of their board meetings. They acknowledge that this is an ongoing process and continuous collaboration and integration is key to achieving current longer-term preventative agenda objectives set under both plans.

There is a close eye from both boards on what can be achieved for populations needing care and support, the domain of the area plan, and wider populations needing supportive and preventative services, the domain of the well-being plan. For example ACE’s feature in both plans however that target population is different with the social care actions far more focussed on people who have suffered ACE’s, with the well-being plan actions focussed on early stage intervention and prevention
